Vanessa A. Tanner joined Hughes Amys LLP as a senior associate in July 2008. Previously, she worked at another downtown civil litigation law firm, primarily with respect to defence matters.

She practices civil litigation with an emphasis on personal injury, property damage, occupiers' liability, professional liability, coverage and subrogation matters. She has attended several trials at the Superior Court level, as well as countless motions, pre-trials and mediations.  She is an able and tenacious advocate on behalf of her clients.  She is bilingual and speaks French fluently. 

Vanessa was called to the bar in February 2002. She is a graduate of McGill University, where she obtained a Women's Studies Bachelor of Arts degree and she is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School. She is an active member of the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Defence Lawyers Association and the Advocates Society.
