Sean is an associate with Hughes Amys LLP, practicing out of the firm's Hamilton office. He joined the firm in 2011 after working as in-house counsel for an insurance company for over five years. Sean was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2001 and Alberta in 1999.
Sean practices civil litigation, primarily in the area of insurance defence. He has defended individuals and insurers in personal injury claims, accident benefits disputes, uninsured and underinsured motorist claims and occupiers liability actions. He has represented clients in Ontario and Federal Courts as well as before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.
Sean has received degrees from the University of Guelph (Hons. B.A., 1995), the University of Alberta (LL.B., 1998) and the University of London (LL.M., 2001, with Merit). He is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Law Society of Alberta (currently inactive).
