Joanne R. Witt joined Hughes Amys LLP in February 2011.   Previously, Joanne was an associate with a prominent insurance defence litigation boutique firm.

Joanne practices civil litigation out of the Toronto Office.  She enjoys a broad practice, with an emphasis on personal injury and occupiers' liability.  She has appeared as counsel before the Ontario Provincial Court of Justice, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Divisional Court.  She has also appeared before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and the Canadian Pension Plan Review Tribunal.

Joanne obtained an undergraduate degree in Psychology from York University in 2002, following which she complete her LL.B. at Osgoode Hall Law School.  She articled at a criminal defence firm in Toronto and was called to the Bar in 2006.  She is a member of  the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Canadian Bar Association.
