James Maloney articled with the firm and was called to the bar in 1996. He has been a partner since 2002.

James has a diverse litigation practice involving a wide range of areas. James' practice includes contractual disputes, negligence claims, employment matters, insurance disputes, professional negligence, commercial litigation, administrative law and some criminal law. James is regularly retained by property and casualty insurers and other institutional clients as well as private individuals. James is counsel to one of Canada's largest on-line travel companies. He also has extensive experience in Internet law and has been successful in protecting domain names including the first reported case in Ontario dealing with Canadian based domains. James has appeared before the various levels of Courts and Tribunals in Ontario. He has acted on behalf of the government of Ontario and was co-counsel for the province in litigation in connection with HIV infected blood products.

James has written articles on various issues including effective trial preparation, evidentiary issues and in the past has been an instructor at a Community College where he taught a course in Media Law.

James is originally from Thunder Bay, Ontario. He has a B.A. degree from Bishop's University in Lennoxville Quebec. He has an LL.B. degree from The University of Wales as well as The University of Windsor.

James is very active politically and has extensive involvement with all three levels of government. He is an active member of various law related organizations and is the past president of The Lawyers Club.
