Bio

Prab joined the firm as an articling student in 2013. She continued as an associate after her call to the Bar in 2014.

Prab practices primarily in civil litigation, prominently in the area of insurance defence, including both tort and accident benefits matters. Her focus is on personal injury and property loss claims. She has attended before both Masters and Judges in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.

While receiving her Graduate LLB from the University of Birmingham, she received the Hogan Lovells Prize for best results in the first year Graduate LLB program. She participated in various mooting competitions and was selected to sit on Birmingham City Council's civil litigation team.

In her free time, Prab plays on recreational soccer and volleyball leagues. She loves to travel and learn to cook diverse cuisines along the way.

Issue 2 - Equitable Contributions to Costs by Excess Insurers

ACE INA Insurance v. Associated Electric & Gas Insurance Limited 2013 ONCA 0685 reiterates and reaffirms the Court of Appeal's previous decisions on an excess insurer’s obligation to contribute equitably to defence costs. The Court upheld the application judge's ruling that the obligation arises from the particular wording of the policy.
