At Hughes Amys, we're proud of our history.
Founded in 1918 by Frank Hughes and Jack Agar, and joined by Jack Amys in 1930, we've been leaders in insurance defence since our inception.
Our founder, Frank Hughes, was the first practicing lawyer in Canada to be appointed directly to the Supreme Court of Canada. Since that time, over a dozen of our lawyers have been appointed as judges at all levels of the bench.
We have a wonderful and rich history of public service. Our lawyers have had the honour of holding prestigious positions in various legal organizations, including the Medical Legal Society, the Advocates Society, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Ontario Bar Association.
As we approach our centenary, Hughes Amys remains dedicated to being a vibrant and modern firm. We are at the forefront of legal technology and we're committed to embracing new and innovative ways to practice law, while serving our clients' rapidly changing business models.
